Formerly from South Africa with strong European roots, respected drummer, composer and author Georg Voros is currently based in the North East of England.

The drummer

Georg began turning heads with his unique brand of drumming in the early 80’s when he became a founder member of cult South African band ‘eVoid’. This was his first experience in constructing original drum parts proving to be a highly inspirational period.  In 2007 Georg was invited to record the eVoid album “Graffiti Lounge’ in London.

The years following the early eVoid experience were interestingly varied and after working with award winning South African artist and composer Neill Solomon, Georg departed for the UK. The move proved fruitful in him being presented with a ‘Best Country Band’ award while with ‘The Stu Page Band’, playing on the Mercury Music Prize nominated album ‘Bengali Bantam Youth Experience’ by Black Star Liner and working with Grammy nominated Nashville artist Gail Davies.  He has also worked with musicians and producers with association to artists such as: Tom Jones, Vanessa Mae, Evelyn Glennie, Osibisa and Albert Lee …  amongst others.

Georg has performed at drum events with drummers such as Jojo Mayer, Dom Famularo and Marco Minnemann.
