You can have a world class live drum sound on your tracks by checking out this complete all in one LIVE drums (and percussion) package...

THE GEAR

The studio is Pro Tools and Calkewalk Sonar equipped.  Microphones are industry standard and supplied by Shure and AKG. This setup is wired into a Yamaha mixing console with high quality preamps. This is paired up with an M Audio soundcard with high quality AD converters. This is recorded onto hard disk at 24bit/48kz quality.

THE SOURCE SOUND

Great recording equipment counts for nothing if you don't have an amazing source sound to begin with.  To achieve this all live drum tracks are recorded on a perfectly tuned *Mapex Saturn series kit. For drum techno nuts this means that these drums have an incredibly thin shell which consists of 4 plies of top quality Maple and 2 plies of Walnut. The result is a rich, resonant sound which delivers a full controlled bottom end.   We also use all maple shell drums for a different desired timbre and tone. The high end snare drums used are interchangeable depending on the clients needs for their tracks.  The drums are complimented by a huge arsenal of high end Sabian cymbals.  From bright rockier crashes to darker jazz sounds, to cool splashes and effects cymbals. We have them all! The cymbals for each session are chosen to suit the style of music.   We also have various African and Latin percussion which can be utilized.

Ther studio also uses a Roland TH12KX electronic drum kit for specific drum timbre requirements from big stadium drum sound to electro synthetic drums. The choice is yours.

TRACK CHOICE

All acoustic drum kit recorded tracks are recorded flat with no EQ or effects.  This means that you can tweak raw and unmixed tracks to your exact requirements on your final mix.  Or if you prefer, you can request a stereo mix with reverbs. This final mix is treated dependent on the style of music.

TRACK FORMATS

We can supply OMF or .wav files that can be imported into any DAW recording software systems such as Pro Tools, Cubase, Sonar or Logic Audio.
