The following two audio tracks give an indication
as to the musical direction of the Stratovor. PLEASE
NOTE THAT ALL INSTRUMENTATION WILL BE REPLACED BY LIVE MUSICIANS
as Georg has played all instruments on these tracks. Therefore
the solo instrumental sections are to be viewed merely as
an indication of musical direction - as Georg says "I
ain't no keyboard soloist - only a drum soloist". And
although there are live drums on these recordings, these will
also be replaced with new drum tracks when final tracking
takes place.
TRACK ONE:
Hungarian Dance No. 2 by J. Brahms
(Arr. G. Voros) - Click HERE
to listen to the track
NOTE FROM GEORG: This classical piece by Brahms was originally
written for two pianists - thus the term 'for four hands'.
I have completely rearranged the piece which in my mind mixes
a kind of bebop groove, modern bolero (my term) and 70's style
progressive rock. It motors along at a fairly hectic pace
and is a lot of fun to play. I hope you enjoy the various
changes within the track.
TRACK TWO:
Magyar Shuffle by Georg Voros - Click
HERE to listen to the track
NOTE FROM GEORG: Hey, my ancestry is Hungarian. Magyar means
Hungarian in Hungarian. There isn't anything particularly
Hungarian about this piece - in fact there is a lot more African
influence in it, just listen to the pennywhistle intro and
you will know what I mean. It does have a shuffle type groove
though, which I try and play a bit differently to what might
be expected. This track again goes through many different
genre and mood changes. A guitarist friend of mine even likened
the middle solo section to The Mahavishnu Orchestra - you
make up your mind. Once again I can honestly say this is a
lot of fun to play and it was cool creating the various parts.
